Future Capital Project plans detailed
At last month's Board of Education meeting, Kevin Sawyer of Triton Construction Company, Allison Sawyer and Arthur Smith of CPL Architects & Planners and Dr. Eric Jay Rosser, superintendent of schools, provided an update on the Poughkeepsie City School District’s Strong Schools Equal Strong Communities Capital Improvement Project.

Smith - Early Learning Center
The Early Learning Center at Smith School received a new gymnasium roof and various roof section replacement and gutter repair over the summer of 2021. The wood cornice was repaired and painting completed. In addition, a new gym floor was installed.

Clinton Elementary School
Roof work at Clinton Elementary School was completed as was restoration of a canopy in the summer of 2021.

Morse Elementary School
Work on Morse Elementary School's roof replacement began in summer 2021, with portions of it completed.

What's next in line?
While there are still projects to be completed under funding for Proposition 1, conceptual work on Proposition 2's Educational Pathways Program is slated to begin in October 2021.
