Creation of reserve funds would help district in future
Interim Chief Operations Officer Bill Hogan recommended the Poughkeepsie City School District take additional steps toward multiyear financial planning Wednesday and establish three new reserve funds: one for future retirement costs (ERS and TRS), one for capital improvements, and the last for repairs.

District leadership is in the planning stages of developing an aspiring leaders program to provide opportunities for teachers, supervisors, coordinators, and assistant principals who are interested in expanding their capacity and understanding of effective school turnaround leadership.

Phase-in of hybrid learning continues on Tuesday
Students in grades 3-6 and 9 who opted in to hybrid instruction at all schools but Warring Elementary will begin in-person instruction on Tuesday, Feb. 16 given the President’s Day holiday Monday. Warring will resume in-person instruction Monday, Feb. 22, due to a positive COVID-19 case.
