School Psychologist
MaryEllen Trocino is in her 19th year in PCSD. She has served in this capacity in multiple buildings including W.W. Smith School, Poughkeepsie Middle School, and Krieger Elementary School. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Criminal Justice and one in Psychology. She also holds a Master’s degree in School Psychology. Mrs. Trocino is an advocate for students and their families and provides counseling and behavioral support and conducts psychoeducational evaluations. School Social Worker
Anais Castillo is starting her third year at Poughkeepsie. Before that, she worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work. She provides counseling and support to students at Krieger and Clinton Elementary. Currently, she is at Krieger on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Speech/Language Therapist
Maria Lindstrom, is beginning her 3rd year at the Poughkeepsie City School District. Prior to joining Poughkeepsie, she worked with Early Intervention, preschool level, and private school elementary-age students in addition to working within the VA Hospital system. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders at SUNY Geneseo, a Master’s Degree in Speech and Language at Long Island University and completed post-graduate work at SUNY New Paltz. She is currently providing speech and language therapy services to students at Krieger Elementary School. Transitional School Counselor
Shavon Ashe is beginning her 2nd year with the Poughkeepsie City School District. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. She provides service to all 5th-grade students in the district, in preparation for their transition to middle school. She is at Krieger School on Tuesdays.
