Clinton rings in holidays with singing, art, Winter Soiree
Clinton Elementary celebrated the holiday season with music, art, crafts, hot chocolate and more Wednesday evening.
The school packaged together an art and special classes exhibition with performances from its third, fourth and fifth grade choruses, before transitioning into its Winter Soiree party.
Attendees walked through art displays on their way to the cafetorium, where a video showing what students have been working on in their art, library and physical education classes played.
The third grade group kicked off the show with performances of “Silent Night,” “Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel,” and “Celebrate Kwanzaa.” Then, the fifth graders took the stage for rollicking renditions of “Frosty the Snowman” and “Winter Fantasy.” Finally, the fourth grade performed a spirited “Feliz Navidad” and closed the show with the softer “White Coral Bells” and “Holiday Lights.” Music teacher Justin Tan led the groups through each piece and accompanied many on piano. The school staff then quickly transformed the space for the Winter Soiree.
Chairs were put away to make room for an open dance floor, surrounded by craft stations in which students could do such things as create ornaments or make snowmen out of modeling clay. There was also a hot chocolate bar set up in the back to sip and enjoy as music played, keeping families in the holiday spirit throughout the evening.
