Meet the School Board Members
The Board of Education consists of five members of the community; each elected to a three-year term of office. They are elected by city residents to carry out functions mandated by the State Constitution, Legislature and State Education Department; and are responsible for establishing school district philosophy, policy and goals.

At regular meetings of the Board, during Citizens’ Comments at the beginnings and endings of the meetings. All comments are limited to three (3) minutes per speaker and the initial comment period is limited to 30 minutes total.

The board has two open seats created when Hon. Thomas O’Neill resigned his position in advance of the third and final year of his term at the beginning of July, and Kelleyann Royce-Giron's resignation in her second year of her term on July 25, 2025. The board can fill the spot by either calling a special election within 90 days of the resignations to serve the remainder of their terms, or by appointing a qualified person to occupy the seats until it can be contested in the next regular election on May 19, 2026.
