DIAGNOSTIC TOOL FOR SCHOOL AND DISTRICT EFFECTIVENESS
(DTSDE)
The New York State Education Department Diagnostic Tool for School and District Effectiveness reflects six tenets identified as essential for effective school systems and practices. Through a survey process Parents / Guardians, Students in grades 3 and up, as well as instructional staff are surveyed annually gathering critical feedback from stakeholders. The DTSDE process compares school and district practices to the optimal conditions of learning, as defined by the research based DTSDE rubric. The United States Department of Education (USDOE) granted the New York State Education Department a waiver from specific provisions of No Child Left Behind, also known as ESEA "the Elementary & Secondary School Education Act", due to the creation of this focused school and district review process. Stakeholder participation and data transparency are key components of this process. Reporting includes a istrictwide compilation of results as well as school specific detail.
Below, survey results from the 2019 – 2020 school year through the 2023 – 2024 school year. Survey reports from the most recent year will be posted as soon as they are available.
