2026 PKX Festival planning underway: Take a survey to share thoughts

Posted Date: 12/01/25 (03:00 PM)

The Poughkeepsie Board of Artistic Youth, or PK B.A.Y., is looking for your input in planning the 2026 PKX Festival.
The PKX Festival is an annual family friendly event designed and implemented by city teens, which showcases the creativity and talent of Poughkeepsie’s youth. The free multi-day festival mixes art, entertainment and activities, and incorporates local food vendors and community organizations.
With planning for the 2026 edition underway, you can provide your thoughts by taking a survey, which is open through Wednesday.
PK B.A.Y. is a workforce program that serves local youth, almost exclusively recruited from Poughkeepsie High School. It is responsible for developing and executing public art activities that will highlight social issues and advocate for positive change in the community. In that mission, PK B.A.Y. launched the first PKX Festival in 2022, showcasing the power of youth-led creativity. Each year, youth decide on the theme, activities and entertainment and work with local businesses and organizations to make the festival come together.
PKX 2026 is scheduled for Friday April 24 and Saturday April 25, and will include art activities, a local teen art exhibition, live music, food vendors and a teen short film showcase. The survey will help PK B.A.Y. fill in the details and add on to its current plans, with options on what kinds of food vendors should be included and what activities should be available. Please be sure to take the survey by Wednesday.
