Poughkeepsie Middle School later this month will present “Dare to Dream Jr.,” a Disney musical revue.
In all, 37 students, between cast and crew, are putting on the show, which is filled with Disney music and choreographed dancing. The performances promise to be a proper sendoff for the school’s auditorium, which will undergo a massive renovation during the late winter and spring months.
The performances are scheduled for Jan. 22 and 23, with doors opening each night at 5:45 p.m. and shows beginning at 6 p.m.
According to the official show description, “Dare to Dream Jr. is a 60-minute musical revue that follows an eager group of trainees on their first day at a fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio. As the group sets out to help each other discover their dreams, they work together to explore the power of dreams to unite, inspire, and make anything possible.” The list of songs mix contemporary and classic tunes from 100 years of Disney music, including brand-new medleys.
