PMS Hip Hop show set for Thursday at Bardavon theate
For two decades, students have performed in the school’s Hip Hop Theater show, which culminates a powerful arts-based learning experience. Over the span of two weeks, expert instructors in the areas of art, music, dance and poetry visit with sixth grade students during English language arts classes for workshop sessions on various ways to express viewpoints and emotions through performance and art.

Theater productions return to PMS with 'High School Musical Jr.'
Forty-one PMS students will put on a production of “High School Musical Jr.” at the school’s auditorium, with performances Thursday and Friday evenings.

Fair provides college exposure to PMS students
The school last Friday held its inaugural college fair, an opportunity for students to learn more about the different choices they’ll have in about four years for higher education.

Students were not only congratulated with a hot breakfast buffet but challenged to use the accomplishment as a launching point for future success.

Mister Brown, a motivational speaker of three decades, brought his “Choose Well Program” to Poughkeepsie on March 3 for a full day that included presentations to each grade level, individual visits with student groups and an after-school session with staff.

The percentage of students classified as chronically absent improved across the Poughkeepsie City School District in March and remains below the rate seen during the 2023-24 school year.
