The third annual Back to School Bash Saturday welcomed well over 1,000 parents and students to Poughkeepsie High School.

Board, leadership tour building improvements
As students return, they will find improvements in each building across the district, from new gym floors in Clinton and Morse elementary schools, to a new brighter ceiling in the middle school, to kitchen and cafeteria renovations in the high school.

An effort to change the state’s formula for allocating educational aid could put in jeopardy future funding to support student programming and staffing in the Poughkeepsie City School District and others.

PCSD welcomes dozens of new educators
The district held its annual new employee orientation Tuesday, formally welcoming 30 new employees to Poughkeepsie. In all, 56 employees have joined the district since July 1.
