Poughkeepsie City School District Announces Superintendent Transition

Mr. Gregory Mott speaks at a podiumThe Poughkeepsie City School District Board of Education announces that Superintendent Dr. Eric Jay Rosser has formally submitted his resignation, effective June 30, 2025. The Board extends its gratitude for his dedication and service to the students, families, and staff of Poughkeepsie. We wish Dr. Rosser well in his future endeavors. 

In preparation for this transition, the Board will appoint Mr. Gregory D. Mott as Acting Interim Superintendent beginning July 1, 2025. With a strong background in curriculum development, school transformation, and student success initiatives, Mr. Mott is well-positioned to provide continuity and leadership during this period of transition. Mr. Mott currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education and brings nearly three decades of experience in educational leadership.

The Board of Education remains committed to ensuring a smooth transition and will provide further updates as the district moves forward in selecting its next superintendent.
