Elevating Families debuts May 1

Elevating families

The Poughkeepsie City School District is excited to announce that May 1, 2021 will mark the start of what it hopes to be an annual event, the Elevating Families parent and family engagement festival. The event will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Poughkeepsie High School Football Stadium Complex. The Elevating Families festival provides another opportunity for the Poughkeepsie City School District and community partners to support families with the intent of promoting student success. Activities will range from family fun activities, live music, educational resources, performances, free food and refreshments, giveaways, and helpful information.

“‘Elevating Families’ is the Poughkeepsie City School District’s recognition that all PCSD parents and families should be celebrated for all that they do to support their child’s success. We are ecstatic that the district and community partners are coming together to provide multiple activities for PCSD families” said, Ms. Natasha Cherry, interim executive director of Community Schools.

Community partners interested in tabling at the festival should contact Ms. Cherry at 845-451-4900 ext. 0779 or ncherry@poughkeepsieschools.org.
