The Poughkeepsie City School District is happy to inform its students, parents, caregivers, and staff that they will have two extra days to enjoy the district’s scheduled spring break.

April 5 and 6 will be added to spring recess as a result of PCSD not using all of its emergency (snow) days this year. In fact, there will be two more give back days coming in June.

A request will be made to the Board of Education on April 7 to extend the Memorial Day holiday through June 1 and that the calendar is changed to recognize Juneteenth on June 18th. On October 14, 2020, Governor Cuomo signed legislation designating Juneteenth as an official public holiday in New York State.

As a reminder, the district is suspending breakfast and lunch meal service until classes resume on April 7.

We wish our PCSD family a wonderful and safe break.
