Schools host vaccine registration, information events

health bus

WMC's COACH bus provides a safe, welcoming environment to get information about the COVID-19 vaccines and register for an appointment.

Poughkeepsie City School District’s Parent Empowerment Center and Westchester Medical Center Health Network are partnering to conduct COVID-19 vaccine registration events at district schools in May.

WMC will provide its COACH mobile bus at each event. WMC staff and family advocates from the Parent Empowerment Center will be there to help.

“As part of the Community Schools Initiative we want to help educate and engage parents and families about the vaccinations,” Mario Johnson, the district’s community schools administrator and member of the Dutchess County Vaccine Outreach Coalition, said. “We want to educate and register city residents to get the vaccine.”

Teams will be at the following locations:

  • Morse Elementary School, Wednesday, May 12, 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Early Learning Center, Friday, May 14, 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Poughkeepsie High School, Tuesday, May 18, 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Poughkeepsie Middle School, Monday, May 20, 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
