Message from the Principal

Welcome to the Krieger School website! I am very proud of our students and faculty, and I hope you’ll learn about us by interacting with the website. Krieger Elementary School is a K-Grade 5 school with approximately 550 students and 70 staff members. We first opened our doors to children in 1929 and expended the building in 2004 with a modern addition. Krieger now has six additional classrooms, a state of the art computer laboratory, a beautiful library that circulates about 1,000 to 2,000 books monthly. As a Reading First school, Krieger is committed to 90 minutes of Reading instruction daily, frequent student assessment and professional development for teachers. Krieger School has a very active PTA organization that meets the third Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. The PTA sponsors a number of activities including the Fall Bookfair, Field Day and the “Spring Fling”. The Krieger PTA welcomes parent involvement and new members.
