Community Asked for Input on Superintendent Search
The Poughkeepsie City School District has begun its search for a new Superintendent of Schools. Superintendent Dr. Laval S. Wilson announced in September that he would be retiring from Poughkeepsie in June 2013.
The District has hired a consultant, District Wise Search Consultants, to assist in the search.
The District is now asking for input from the community on the characteristics it feels are important to consider when selecting the next Superintendent.
Surveys were sent home with all students for parents to complete. The Board of Education encourages participation by all members of the Poughkeepsie community to help develop a final profile of leadership qualities for the District’s next leader.
Surveys are available in each school building and at the Jane Bolin Administration Building, 11 College Avenue. Participants may also obtain a copy of the survey by clicking on the link below. Completed surveys may be e-mailed to the search firm directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or they may be dropped in a collection box at any school or the Administration Building. Surveys are due by February 6, 2013.
